Instead of giving a polished, glassy look, matte polish appears a perfectly smooth and subtly shiny surface that looks really special and cool. After showing the newest collections of nail polish of Fräulein3°8 in our last post, we have launched another new set of nail polish that perfectly fits this autumn! It's nail polish that cracks!

I myself love this collection a lot, because design of this nail polish bottle is very detailed. From the bottle body, to the bottle cap to the paper case to the nail polish itself are all very lovely. The block colors chosen also match the trend for this autumn.

Now take a look of the colours of this collection as well as the crackle effect.

The application of the crackle polish is very simple. First, apply a layer of non-crackle polish. You may choose whatever colour you like for mix and match, but I'd prefer silver, gold or other shimmering colour to make the 'cracks' stand out.

Second, apply the crackle polish on top when the layer of non-crackle polish dries. You may have to apply a thicker layer of polish to allow enough polish for crackling. When the polish starts to dry, it cracks. Then let it dry.

Finally, apply a thin layer of topcoat polish to make it shine. Finish! Easy enough?

Make Up for the Sunset: Love Memory that Lasts this Summer

What's more beautiful than the sunset during the summer time? The shiny golden of sunlight shines on your face and the flare with the rosy colour of your skin just make everything suddenly become so beautiful, so fascinating. One can't stop looking at this beautiful girl. Who's she?

If you know how to make use of make up to match with the light, you can be that girl, too! So, we are going to demonstrate the make up for Sunset, which is so perfect for this summer fall!

First step: Get your face ready
By 'ready', we mean the foundation, primer, brzoner and concealer. The key point of this make up is to make the focus on the very centre of your face.

Second step: Eye Make up

A pearl golden cream eyeshadow is first applied on the overall eyelid up to the eyebrow. (SILKY SMOOTH ILLUMINATING PRIMER is recommended to be applied beforehand to stabilize the colour on the eye lids.)

This time we use our "88 COLOURS SUN KISS GOLDEN EYESHADOW PALETTE" . Actually, any colour on this palette fits for this make up, as they all contain golden shimmering powder for sunlight reflection.

Use a medium eyeshadow brush to apply dark golden brown colour on the outer half of the eyelid and blend it in the crease.

Then apply light gold colour from the eye corner to the middle.

Dark brown cream eyeliner is then used to draw exotic cat eye liner. The eye liner is drawn from the eye corner alone the eyeline and wing it out at the outer eyeliner subtly.

Finally, LOVELY SHY HALF FALSE EYELASHES-BLACK is applied to strengthen the shape of the eyes and the whole eyemake up is finished!

Final Step: Blush and Lips

For a natural shiny blush, a light pink brush with pearl powder is recommended.

With the mysterious eye make up colour, it'd be better use peach pink lip colour to keep a balance, so the whole make up won't lose its sense of innocence.

Tips for this make up:

If you have brown eyes and dark hair colour, you should use light purple or pink eyeshadow colour instead of brown eyeshadows. Otherwise, you may use light pink lipgloss colour to make your face stand out. Remember, choose either way, but not both way at the same time! ;)

Do you want to be a creepy or pretty ghost? You can do it in both ways with just a few simple steps!

Do you hair: What can be easier to obtain a wig from costume shop? However, do remember to buy a black one. That can make your pale face stand out.

Whiten your face: unfortunately, we do not offer any base make up that is white enough for halloween. However, you can still get it from costume shop.
However, if you want to be pretty, you may choose the foundation in the lightest tone. Then apply white face powder at the end to hold the make up.

Make bruises on your face: Make use of black, grey or dark brown eyeshadow to create bruises around your face. To make them look natural and real,
use fingertips instead of make up brush to tap the colour on your face.

Then comes to the key of the whole make up: the eyes. First, you should outline sharp and black eyebrows. Then use black pencil eyeliner to draw thick and stiff upper and under eyeline.
Afterwards, dark eyeshadows should be applied around the eyeliners and blend well to obtain a beautiful smokey eyes. Then wear a pair of creepy contact lens. Any creepy colours like bloody red, white or wholly black will do.

Finally, don't forget to use false nails! Better choose long and sharp false nails. You may apply nail colour that matches your make up style, i.e. either red or black.

Fräulein3°8's Travel-Around (2nd Shot: HongKong)

We are very excited to tread on one of the busiest city in Asia at our second stop - Hong Kong. The first impression it gave us is that people there walk really fast (even for a student!) , and this street is busy day and night. That made us a bit nervous, but this is also what makes HongKong so appealing to us.

As a diversified city where east meets west, Hong Kong embraces different cultures and ethnicities. Not only that we could find multiple imported beauty products of brands coming from all over the world, but also girls with different unique styles there. How do they look? What they think about make up and nail art? Here, we are going to show you where we went, what we found and who we saw. Let's go discovering Hong Kong together!

Go Shopping!

We have visited a view districts in HongKong, including Tsim Sha Tsui and Mongkok, where most of the chain drugstores are situated. Bonjour and Sasa are the largest amongst them that can be easily found on the street. You can find makeup, perfume and skin care of all well-known brands in their stores. The price overall is quite cheap, because they are all parallel imports.

There are also many mega shopping malls in Hong Kong, as we know, it is also renowed as a shopping paradise. Big malls like Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui and IFC Mall located in the tallest building of Hong Kong, have all the luxury brands' stores.

However, it is quite interesting to find that nail art shops cannot be easily found in Hong Kong. Unlike Japan where nail art shops are found in every mall, nail art shops can only be found in smaller shopping centre or private buildings in Hong Kong. That means doing nail art is not yet very common in Hong Kong.

Their Nails

Hong Kong girls are very shy. We tried a few times to invite girls on the street to let us take photos of them and their nails, but they only let us take photos of their nails not their faces. Perhaps that's because most of them do not wear make up (though they do have pretty faces).

As we can tell from the way they dress, they are rather conservative with nail art. We interviewed some girls, and most of them like simple styles with natural colours. Only some would love to make 3D white or pink flowers integrated in the UV Gel nails, or cute painting on the nails. However, it's hard to find nails with exaggerating designs and 3Ds like those in Japan.

In Hong Kong, night life is one of its features you shouldn't miss! Lan Kwai Fong in Central is the hot spot clustered with bars and clubs. We suppose this is the only place where girls are willing to take photos with strangers in Hong Kong . :P

Girls at clubbing feel so different from those at daytime. It's like as if they put off their mask (or maybe put on another mask) and completely enjoy the music and fine wine. And we can finally see the 'open' side of Hong Kong.

From our interviews with the girls, we got to know Korean style make-up is the hittest trend these days in Hong Kong. They would not go too much with their make up. Most of them would just wear light make up, because natural skin tone was the key. However, they do put strong emphasis on their eye make up with strong eyeliner and mascara. Besides, they also made use of false eyelashes, and even double false eyelashes at the end of the eyes to create cat-eye style.

Volumizing & Extending your nails with Acrylic & Half False Nail

If you find your nail too weak and thin, you may consider thickening your nail with a healthy look. We are goint to demonstrate how to volumize your nail with acrylic and half false nail in french style. This is the simplest way for beginner, because half false nail already has a beautiful round shape that fit your nail tip, that you can easily extend your natural nail with white tip.

What you need to prepare:
1. white half false nail tips
2. Clear Acrylic powder and acrylic liquid
3. Top coat UV Gel
4. Nail File

Now, let's get started!

1. Choose the right nail tips. To find the right nail tip, you need to try the nail as shown in the picture. When you hold the false nail tip on your own nail, the width of the false nail should not exceed the width of your natural nail. Otherwise, it's too big for you. You need to find one that exactly matches the width of your nail. If you cannot find one, then you will need to trim the oversized nail tip to fit yours.

2. Just like this one. When you press the nail tip, the tip can perfectly cover the real nail without going out. Then you can use nail glue to stick the false nail tip to your natural nail. Make sure there's no space between the false nail and the real nail. Then hold for 20-30 seconds. Please be reminded not to use too much nail glue. That would lead to a mess on your nail.

3. Cut your nail with nail scissors to the length you want, but leave a little length for filing for finishing. The false tip's surface is still too smooth. In order to avoid the acrylic from splitting, the whole nail needs to be filed agan.

4. Dip the nail brush tip into the acrylic liquid. Then dip a little clear acrylic powder to create a small acrylic ball at the brush tip. Pave the acrylic mixture over the whole false nail tip part. The nail tip will be volumized instantly as shown in the picture.

5. Repeat step 4 and pave the acrylic mixture over the lower part of the nail. You will start to see the shine and volume it gives to your nail.

6. Repeat the same step to finish the whole nail. Let the acrylic dry for 20-30 seconds

7. After it dries, you need to trim and file the nail again, because the curve of the surface is not natural.

8. After filing, the nail would have a beautiful curve. The nail tip also looks smooth as shown in the picture

9. finally, apply a thin layer of top coat gel on the nail. Heat under UV Lamp for 1 minute. Then you will have a hand with pretty nails like the ones below:

1. Trim and file your nail

2. Apply a thin layer of base Gel and heat under UV Lamp for 1 minute

3. This time we apply clear UV Gel

4. Heat under UV Lamp again for 1 minute

5. Can you see the shine on your nail after applying a layer of UV Gel? but not finished yet! Please keep reading

6. As you can see from the picture, you can still make a fingerprint on the nail. That means the gel is not completely dried after heating. To finish the nail, you need to use UV Gel Cleanser to remove the top layer.

7. Finally! Wow~ Can you see the difference of the nails before and after apply UV Gel? You can do it yourself as well!

Time really flies. Fräulein3°8 is already 1 year old, and it is time for us to expand the market to other countries as well. We have sent a team of 4 beauty specialists to different countries which lead the fashion and beauty trends in Asian/European regions.

Our First Stop: Tokyo, Japan
Renowned as the pioneer in the beauty/fashion industry, Tokyo in Japan is definitely not a place to miss. The first impression that it gave us is that the japanese are very polite and friendly. However, things there are pretty expensive that made us want to let them know how great yet reasonably priced our products are :P. All and all, our whole trip was enjoyable and we learned a lot.

Shibuya

Shibuya is the place where most young girls love going shopping. Girls there all do make up and hair like a barbie doll, i.e. blond hair with a headband with a ribbon bow, very long eyelashes and pinky face. They all look very lovely.

In spite of their similar make up and hair styles, they know well how to dress in their own way. The strongest part that we perceive the way they do the nails to match their dresses. If they are on a facebook page, we'll definitely give then "like" 10 times!

Girls in Shibuya are very friendly. They are very happy when we asked them to let us take a picture of them. Well, who don't want to share their beauty, which they spend so much effort on?

Harajuku

Located just next to Shibuya, yet the girls there look quite different. The culture in Harajuku has 2 extremes, because there are girls who like 'cosplay'(costume play) at weekends. These girls wear heavy make up and do nails with exaggerating 3Ds. Their look may not be well accepted by the majority, yet we really appreciate how professional they do it all DIY!

'Cosplay' girls can be found everywhere in
Harajuku during weekends. It's a good opportunity to discover another culture of Japan.

Ikebukuro

Clustered with many shopping malls like PARCO, SUNSHINE CITY, TOKYO HANDS, etc. It is so convenient for anyone to shop any kinds of products there. You can buy nail art books at bookstore, make up products at drugstore and nail art products at living store. Some of them are even opened 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We can imagine that our products will be there in the near future. :P

Girls in Ikebujuro seem to like painting on nails rather than many 3Ds. One possible reason is that most of them are white collar, so they cannot have exaggerating nails.

Actually, it's way too many things to look and discover in Japan. What we observed is that japanese girls have their own attitude towards beauty that really fit the motto of Fräulein3°8. We hope this attitude will spread to other places as well. By the ways, our next stop is Hong Kong. How'll that be? Stay tuned! See you!

Iceland Volcano ash causes fresh air travel chaos

A volcanic eruption started under Eyjafjallajokull glacier in the southern part of Iceland on 14th April. Most airlines have announced the closure of airspace in north Europe (see the green crosses in the map below) since yesterday morning, which is where the ashes have been blown, because the ashes are affecting the transportation of mail by air.

This is impacting most of our international orders to which travels by air at night and international mail entering, via or exiting Germany/United Kingdom airports. Our shipping partners have implemented plans to despatch mail to most European destinations by road. As a result of this, members should be aware of potential delays in the delivery of mail.

How to rescue your broken eyeshadows

Most of our members would prefer eyeshadow palette to cream eyeshadows , because it has more colours and hence more convenient and economic. However, eyeshadows in palette are always in powder form. That makes the eyeshadows more fragile and easily broken. If you do not take good care of it, it may be crumbled by a crush or dropping. It would be a waste if you just throw the eyeshadow into the rubbish bin when it's crumbled.

In fact, if you are not dropping it from a building or throwing it like a ball, your eyeshadow is still rescueable. Here we made a video to show how to fix it.

Let's take a close up to the eyeshadow when it's crumbled and after it's fixed:

As you can see, Alcohol is the key. Since alcohol will evaporate, it will not affect the quality of the eyeshadow and hence your skin. The colour will still be the same. Isn't that easy?

Introduction to Nail Art Brush (Part 2)

Few weeks ago, we introduced the use of nail art brushes in different shapes for painting. These brushes are mainly used for 2D nail art, i.e. they can be used with both UV Gel and acrylic paint to make flat painting. If you want to do more fascinating nails with 3-D nail art, 3D nail art brushes we are going to introduce this week is definitely a MUST HAVE tool for 3D sculpture!

There are 2 main ways to do 3Ds, i.e. directly on the nail or on an aluminium foil. If directly made on the nail, the 3D is always thin in size and buried under a layer of crystal clear UV gel or acrylic. Bigger 3Ds are always stuck on the nail surface instead. They should be done on an aluminium foil first in order not to ruin the nail.

Unlike brushes for flat painting, all nail art brushes for 3D sculpture have the same shape, i.e. a round body with sharp end. The fattest part of the brush tip will absorb and save the most liquid when soaked in acrylic liquid, while the sharp end of the brush tip minimizes the acrylic liquid, so that it can create a small ball when dipping into the acrylic powder. You may then use the brushes in different sizes to make different details of the 3Ds.

Now let us show how to make an acrylic candy with a few simple steps:

1. Soak the brush with acrylic liquid, then dip into light pink acrylic powder to make a small ball.

2. Put the “ball” onto a piece of aluminium foil. Repeat the same step with white acrylic powder to cover and enlarge the light pink ball in step 1.

3. Use another brush to mix acrylic liquid with rosy pink acrylic. Put the mixture at both sides of the light pink ball. Use a smaller brush to sculpture the mixture into triangle shape and the smallest brush to create details on top.

4. Finish this cute 3D candy by making a few more small dots on the surface with rosy pink acrylic paint As you can see, it’s easy to design your own fabulous nail art 3Ds.

Introduction to Nail Art Brush (I)

We have received some emails from members asking about the difference and use of each nail art brush. In fact, nail art brush is similar to the brushes for painting, but they are used for drawing on the nails. Since our nails are smaller and round in shape, nail art brushes are usually smaller and have different shapes designed for drawing different graphics in different areas. Nail art brush not only can be used for drawing with nail paint, but also for making 3D nail art, acrylic and gel nails. In other words, nail art brush is an indispensable tool for nail art lovers.

We are going to use “12x Nail Art Design Pen Painting Brush Dotting Tool Set” as an example to briefly explain how to identify the use of each brush for painting.

From left to right:

§ Fan: Brings thin line together or for sputtering, seldom used in nail art.
§ Square: For basic technique of painting regular shapes and refine task
§ Angular: It can draw beautiful sector shape, best for drawing rose petal and bud

§ angular fine: Same as angular, but mainly used to draw smaller patterns
§ 3D Design Oval: It is thicker and has more hair, easy for suppression & drawing of mixture. Usually used for making acrylic 3Ds, but can also be used to draw smile line when painting
§ Flat: Use for drawing thick line or thick swirls

§ extra fine angular: Same as angular, but mainly used to draw extra small patterns
§ fine liner: used to draw short and fine straight line
§ extra short round: can be used to draw small-sized patterns in various design

§ Standard round: easy to handle. Can be used to draw any designs, no matter straight, twisted or swirl lines.

§ Spot Swirl: Only the tip is used for drawing polka dots in different sizes.

§ extra long fine liner: It’s long enough to draw an extra long fine liner at one time without interruption, easy for making marble pattern, heart mark, etc

Do your own Make Up: Colorful Spring

When talking about Spring, people think of fresh and colorful flowers. Here we are going to show you how to make your eyes blossom like flowers.

The eye make up consist 3 colors. Since this is a daytime make-up, we use pink, green and yellow, which are soft and effortlessly harmonize. You may change the color combination, like blue, red and orange for night make-up or any colors you want to try. The focus of this make up is on the eyes, so nude or soft pink colors should be used for the lips and cheeks in order not to override. Remember, never blindly follow any make-up demonstration, you should choose the colors that match your skin tone perfectly.

Step by Step How-tos:

Products used:

8in1 Gel Eyeliner Set, 24 color eyeshadow palette, Mascara, Black Gel Eyeliner, Blush palette, Lipgloss palette (All from Fräulein3°8)

1. Apply pearl white cream eye shadow to the eyes as base shade. The process of the powder adhering to the cream will create a smudge resistant base for your eye shadow. It will last forever.

2. Apply a medium shade of mint green on the lower lid. Blend into your base shade.
3. Apply another medium shade of yellow on the upper lid, along the lash line and at the outer corner of the eye.

4. Draw a fine upper eye liner with black gel liner.
5. Then draw a fine lower eye liner with pink cream eye shadow.

6. Apply a little orange at the inner corner of your eyes to make them luminous. You may then finish the eye make-up with black mascara.
7. Sweep soft pink blush downward from the ear to mid-cheek

8. Finally, apply lip-gloss in nude or pale pink color.

Use one minute to stick false eyelashes

No wonder false eyelashes are inevitable to any make-up styles. Regardless how long and how much volume your natural eyelashes are, false eyelashes are still needed to make your eyes look bigger and brighter. You will definitely be obsessed with false eyelashes after you learn how to wear false eyelashes in one minute. You can wear false eyelashes of different styles in any occasions, no matter it’s a dinner with friends, parties, or just shopping on your own. You must admit it’ll be a waste of time and very annoying when you do not know the trick. So we are going to show you how to get it done in just one minute. It’s really easy and you should learn really fast. 

1. Cut the false eyelashes to the length same as your eyes

2. Apply some glue on the eyelash. (better with black glue to match your eyeliner’s colour)

3. This is the crucial part. You need to set the mirror with 50° angle of inclination, so that you can see your whole natural lashes from the bottom.

4. Use your both hands to hold the ends of the eyelash, and stick the eyelash along your own real lash and hold for a second. P.S. There should not be any gap between the real and false eyelashes, and eyeline must be drawn beforehand to make it look natural.

5. Look! So easy, right?

If you have no idea which false eyelashes to use, I’d recommend the eyelashes with strong and black edge that can result in a thick eye line effect. If you want it natural, you may choose half-lashes similar to our falsh eyelashes below. The lashes are long and fine crossing one another to add more volume to your eyes, but not too much. Its length at the end is longer to soften the shape of your eyes.

To our dearest members,

We have lately found that there are more people sell counterfeit products in our brand online, like eBay or B2B websites. These sellers are not authorised to re-sell our products, and have already taken legal action against these sellers. Authorised sellers should have a license from us to re-sell products online. If they are counterfeits sellers, they will not be able to provide a proof. Besides, as you can see from the link below, this counterfeit product's logo is rough and distorted, and the quality of the case is also poorer.

In order to protect buyers' rights and interest, we will take all measures to crack down counterfeits, including adding labels or safety seals for buyers to identify the authentic products. We also welcome our members to report suspected fakes by email info@fraulein38.com

In the meantime, we highly suggest our members thinking twice before buying at deep-discount and dollar stores online. Inspect labels and packaging. Misspellings, or unfamiliar packaging should be reported.

A Kind Reminder and A New Platform for checking order status for our dearest members

To our dearest members,

Following our message to our members in Italy, we would like to express our concerne about the use of our Facebook page.

We are very thankful that Facebook has provided a new platform for us to have a direct interaction with our members, and even so when our members cannot reach us via email. We understand that our members are very concerned if the orders can arrive before Christmas, especially during this peak season when the delivery takes longer than usual. However, we are concerned that members start to leave their private information on Facebook. Please DO NOT leave any information personal on Facebook including order number, because others may abuse it and try to obtain your private information from us.

In order to protect your privacy, members should be reminded NOT to leave anything private on Facebook. If we find any posts suspicious of containing personal information, we will delete the posts directly without prior notice.

Besides, we highly recommend that members contact us by email and allow 24 hours for our CS to reply before posting on our Facebook. We have also created a new platform for our member to inquire about the order status, so members do not have to worry about their posts being covered by other members' posts on Wall. Our CS will check our discussion board every day to make sure all members who cannot receive emails from us are also taken care of.

Our dear members, please share this with us and do not feel offended if you already have your post deleted. We always care about you and your rights.
